Tourists should not fear coming to SA, says minister

August 3rd 2019: Tourists should have no fear being in South Africa or visiting the country, despite the recent murder of a Ukrainian and reports of tourist robberies in the Western Cape. This is according to Tourism Minister Mmamakolo Kubayi-Ngubane. Kubayi-Ngubane would have been taking note of the recent death involving Ukranian tourist Ivan Ivanov who was stabbed to death last weekend.

“I would like to reassure tourists that it is safe to travel to South Africa and that their safety remains top priority for the South African government.

3rd September 2019 SATAC Travel Warning – Nigeria – Boko Haram have today threatened to target and Attack South Africans and South African businesses in Nigeria in retaliation for the recent xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and the looting and burning of Nigerian owned businesses in Gauteng.

June 12, 2019 SATAC advises all South Africans to avoid unnecessary travel to Hong Kong in the immediate future due to current violent street protests. Also South Africans should avoid unnecessary travel to the Philippines. SATAC Travel Advisories are based on an on-going analysis of world news.
